Jay takes a service-driven, hands-on approach to both customer care and franchise development, building a brand rooted in integrity, education, and long-term impact. Originally from Westchester County, New York, Chris Malara has spent the past six years building roots in Waxhaw, North Carolina, where he lives with his wife and children. With more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare field, Chris brings a strong clinical background in rehabilitation therapy, specializing in pain management. His expertise extends beyond patient care, with substantial professional experience in marketing, social media strategy, and advertising. Chris is known for his ability to connect authentically with people and communicate meaningful, practical information drawn from his diverse professional journey. He holds degrees in Occupational Therapy, Physical Education, and Criminal Justice, reflecting both the depth and versatility of his skillset. An entrepreneur at heart, Chris and his wife founded a real estate relocation company in Charlotte, NC, and he has also been active in the retail pet supply industry. As a passionate animal rescuer and advocate, he is the proud owner of eight dogs. Outside of work, Chris enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, playing basketball, working on his truck, and making memories with his family—especially on trips to the beach. Susan is a wife and mother with an advanced degree in criminal justice, which served her professional career in law enforcement in New York City. That experience shaped her ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and remain calm and solution-focused in high-pressure situations. Since relocating to the Charlotte area 13 years ago, she worked for several years with children with special needs, further strengthening her patience, empathy and ability to adapt to individual needs. In 2020, she transitioned those skills into a client-focused medical equipment sales role, where relationship-building, active listening, and delivering meaningful value are central to her approach. Her motto, No panic, just solutions, guides her approach to challenges and opportunities. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, the beach, and time with her family. Karan began working in the mobility industry in 2018, originally helping a friend with repairs in her spare time. She quickly discovered a natural mechanical ability and a strong passion for problem-solving. That first successful repair gave her a lasting boost of confidence, and she fell in love with both the challenge and the reward of helping people live more independently. Over time, she became known as the “Ramp Queen,” always ready to take on the tricky ramp projects others wouldn’t tackle. She thrived on finding creative solutions and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Now, as she transitions into a new chapter with Mobility and More, she is excited to expand her knowledge into other areas of the business. While she may not be doing the same heavy lifting she once did, she remains fully committed to helping people maintain their mobility and independence. Karan is a proud mother of two wonderful grown children, Ridge and Olivia, and a grandmother to her sweet granddaughter, Lily (5), and her newest grandson, Rogue (4 months).
